Special Product Of Zawtika (Jotika) Group(Padon Lotus Robe)
Theravada Buddhists in Myanmar offer various kinds of robes to the Pagodas, Buddha Imanges and the Sangha, Buddhist monks. Among various kinds of sacred robes, Padonma lotus robe from lotus fibre is regarded as the most sacred one in Myanmar.
Weaving a Padonma lotus robe is very time consuming and laborious. Furthermore, Padonma lotus can only be found at Inlay Lake in Shan State in the east of Myanmar. Thus it is very expensive.
After getting the lotus stalks plucked from lakes, the stalks are washed and then cut into pieces and fibres can be extracted from these stalks. About 50,000 lotus stalks are required to weave a robe of human size.
The quality of this Padonma Lotus robe is light, fragrant and suitable for all seasons- it feels cool in the hot season and it feels warm in the cold season. If you have a chance, do come and visit Inlay lake and you can study the process of weaving a Padonma lotus robe.
Although this kind of sacred Padonma lotus robe can only be found in Inlay Lake, our Zawtika (Jotika) group can provide these robes to be sold in our retail shops.
There is one more point to be mentioned proudly used robes and the robes that have already been donated are never provided at any Zawtika (Jotika) outlets.
